Issue
On June 13, 2023, Microsoft’s KB5027231 update installed on Windows 11 caused a conflict between Google Chrome and exploit protection, resulting in browser crashes.
Environments
- Windows 11
- Nebula
- OneView
Cause
Microsoft and Exploit Protection DLLs were conflicting on the same processes.
Resolution
To mitigate this issue and prevent Google Chrome from crashing, we applied a change in Nebula and OneView that disabled Google Chrome as a protected application only for the exploit protection layer in your policy settings. This setting has been automatically re-enabled.
