The OneView and ConnectWise Asio integration is the perfect solution to manage the OneView endpoint agent from the Asio console. This removes the need to use OneView to install the endpoint agent or initiate tasks. Follow the steps below to set up this integration and manage OneView devices with Asio.
Step 1 - Create OneView API credentials
OneView administrators must start by generating API credentials in the OneView console to start integrating with the Asio console. For help generating API credentials, see Create OAuth2 credentials for OneView.
Step 2 - Enable the plugin in Asio
The integration connects the OneView and Asio consoles using a plugin found in the Asio store. Enable this plugin in the Asio console and select OneView sites to connect with Asio companies. This helps the integration know which sites and companies are working together to deliver settings and features from Asio.
- In ConnectWise Asio, go to Settings > Integrations.
- Search for OneView and toggle on the plugin.
- Enter the Client ID and Client Secret generated from OneView.
- Select Grant API access to OneView.
- Click Proceed. The Site Mapping page displays and provides a list of existing Asio companies.
- Under the OneView Site column, select a site to connect with an Asio company.
Note: Only a single OneView site can be mapped to a single Asio company. - Once complete, click Save And Proceed.
- Click Close.
Note: If the plugin is disabled, all configured site, policy, and package data is removed from the Asio console.
Step 3 - Install Asio management agent
Installing the Asio management agent is the next step to connect OneView devices to Asio. This signals devices to utilize the settings sent from Asio, such as installing the endpoint agent or sending event information to the console.
- In ConnectWise Asio, go to Settings > RMM Setup.
- Select a site.
- In the Agent installers window, select the operating system.
- Click Download installer.
- Follow the installation instructions to install the ITSPlatform agent.
Step 4 - Configure policies
Policies in Asio control security settings that are applied to OneView devices. Settings that Asio controls include the installation of the endpoint agent and receiving alerts from devices such as detections. Administrators not a part of the OneView console are then able to manage installations for devices and investigate detection events. Configure and apply a policy for each site enabled in the plugin.
- Go to Settings > Policies.
- Select an existing policy or click Add Policy.
- Select Malwarebytes Site Policies for the type.
- Enter a policy name.
- Toggle on Agent Installation to deploy the Endpoint Agent to assigned devices. If the toggle is off when saved, the endpoint agent uninstalls.
- Toggle on Enable ticketing to start receiving ticket alerts in Asio for detections.
- A list of ticketing alert types is displayed; toggle on desired alert types.
- Click Save.
Disable policy settings for a device
While most devices might utilize all policy settings control through the Asio console, administrators may want to disable a setting for a specific device. This could include receiving event alerts or not wanting the security agent installed on a device.
Individual devices, however, can have their policy settings disabled without needing to change the policy for all devices. This is done using the override feature on the devices page.
- Go to Computers > Devices.
- Select a device with applied policy settings.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Click the Devices drop-down menu.
- Select the policy.
- Click Edit.
- Toggle on or off settings in the policy list.
- Click Save.
Note: To remove override settings, click Remove Overrides.
Step 5 - Configure packages
Packages in Asio control which policies are deployed to a OneView site. Packages are assigned to a policy, and the settings are applied to devices on the site. A package can only be assigned to one site, but a site can have multiple packages. This allows for multiple policy settings to be available for different devices in OneView.
- Go to Settings > Packages.
- Select an existing package or click Add Package.
- Enter a package name.
- Under the available policies, drag and drop a policy into the package window.
- Click Save.
- Go to Settings > Packages.
- Click on the Sites tab.
- Select a site and click Assign Package.
- Select a package and click Assign.
Note: Click Remove Assignment to remove a package from a selected site. - Once complete, device and ticket alert data appear on the devices page in Asio.
Step 6 - Setup security tasks
When the plugin is enabled, endpoint agent task options in OneView are displayed in the Asio console. This gives Asio administrators the option to issue a manual or scheduled task to devices from Asio rather than OneView.
Manual tasks can be performed immediately on the endpoint agent. Scheduled tasks can be set for future dates or recurring dates so the task is run on a frequency.
Run a manual task
- Go to Devices > Computers.
- Search for tasks labeled with MWB from the list to run or schedule on devices.
- Select a device and click Run.
- Select the task to perform with the endpoint agent.
Schedule a task
- Go to Automation > Tasks.
- Select an MWB task from the list to schedule.
- Click Schedule.
- In the option list, click Schedule.
- Select a start date and time to issue the task and select if it should be repeated.
- In the site list, click the + icon to expand the site and show the device list.
- Select devices to receive the task.
- Click Run.
Step 7 - Find ticket alerts
Once all the previous configuration steps are complete, event alerts from devices are sent to the Asio console. This creates a ticket in Asio for administrators to review and investigate what might have occurred. This feature is for quickly notifying administrators so they can do a review of an event, deeper investigation such as researching a detection or suspicious activity must be done in the OneView console.
- Go to Devices > Computers.
- Click on a device name, this opens up the details page.
- Select the Tickets tab.
- This displays the ticketing page for that device.
- Identify OneView-related tickets with the MWB prefix in the subject line.
