Learn answers to frequently asked questions about the simplified OneView Usage Based Billing.
Note: Usage based billing is not applicable for bundle subscriptions; for details, see Bundle subscriptions in OneView.
How is billing changing?
Instead of subscribing to a specific product type, partners now subscribe to a maximum protection level. The policy settings and the maximum protection level will determine what is billed for each endpoint.
Can a site have a subscription for servers only?
No - A subscription for Workstation & Server devices is required to protect servers. However, if no agents are deployed on workstations, you will not be billed for any workstation endpoints. This change removes the possibility of being billed server pricing for a workstation endpoint.
Can I receive a notification if I have over deployed on a site?
We have added new notifications to alert users when the allocated amount is exceeded. For more information, see Setup notifications in OneView.
Will I receive an additional bill if I exceed my license allocation on a site?
License allocation is for informational use only and does not affect billing or protection.
Can I have multiple product types for one site?
Yes - It is possible to have multiple levels of protection for a site.
Where can I see usage information?
A usage dashboard is available to show usage for all sites and products.
Do I need to modify my previous subscriptions?
All existing usage based subscriptions will be automatically migrated to our new simplified subscriptions. Partners billed up-front by seats purchased will not be impacted. If you have any questions about your subscription type, please contact your account manager.
