Email Security Update

Improvement

This update introduces enhanced mailbox tracking and bulk protection management, visibility into DKIM, DMARC, and SPF details on the Domains page, new Email Security widgets in dashboards and weekly reports, improved navigation with pagination and total counts in Email tables, and updated messaging for phishing reports and domain deletion confirmations.

DNS Filtering Update

Improvement

Updated the Patch History report so that the Reason column now accurately displays error messages for failed patches, aligning with the error details shown in the event slide-out within the console.

Issues Fixed

  • NDEV-18279: Fixed an issue where the DNS Filtering block page was not being updated properly for sites when account-level DNS Filtering page was updated.
  • NDEV-20403: Fixed an issue where the Reason column in the Patch History report didn't display the corresponding error message for failed patches.

Patch Management table enhancement

Improvement

We’ve expanded the Patch Management table to provide deeper visibility into customer devices. The table now has additional columns for: OS Type, OS Platform, OS Release Name, and OS Version. These details make it easier to segment devices, identify patch needs, and manage updates more efficiently.

Email Security Data Center

Improvement

New Email Security customers can now select their preferred data center region during email security integration. Available options: United States, European Union (EU), or United Arab Emirates (UAE). Note: This change applies to new Email Security customers only. Existing customers’ data will remain hosted in the United States.

Security Advisor for Email Security

Email Security is now integrated into Security Advisor, providing visibility into email-related posture and configuration. Security Advisor now displays:

  • If Report Phishing Mailbox is correctly set up.
  • DKIM, DMARC, and SPF domain validation results.
  • Mailboxes with Email Security protection disabled (display only; does not affect score).

Policy setting updates

Improvement

Improved policy settings clarity and organization by updating wording, relocating options for accurate context, and adding tooltips to clarify OS applicability, ensuring better usability and reduced confusion across Endpoint Agent and Protection Service configurations.

Features and Improvements

  • Moved and renamed the "Automatically download and install ThreatDown application updates" policy setting to the Protection Settings policy section. The new name is "Automatically download and install ThreatDown Protection service updates".
  • Moved the "Detect signature-less anomalous files" to the Advanced settings section under "Applies to Threat Scans, Hyper Scans, and Real-Time Protection events". 
  • Renamed the "Allow updating software inventory and applying Windows OS patches for endpoints" policy setting to "Allow updating software inventory (Windows & macOS) and applying Windows OS patches (Windows only)"
  • Added Detect Malware with AI Algorithms policy setting under Scan settings, which provides the ability to Enable, Disable, or Detect and Report detections that use ThreatDown AI Algorithms in catching malware.

Issues Fixed

  • NDEV-17401: Resolved an issue where servers had Application Block enabled for accounts with a workstation-only bundle.
  • NDEV-19538: Resolved an issue where trusted apps from Microsoft and Malwarebytes were inadvertently blocked by Application Block category-based rules.
