A group is a collection of endpoints that share the same policy. In Nebula, you can choose which policy you assign to each group. Organize your endpoints by adding groups and moving endpoints to them. This article explains how to manage groups and move endpoints into groups.
Add a group
- Go to Configure > Groups.
- Click New.
- In the Group Name field, enter a unique name for the group.
- Select a policy from the Policy Name drop-down menu.
- Optionally, click the checkbox Create within an existing group and choose a parent group to create the new, child group under.
- Select one or more scheduled scans to include for endpoints in this group.
- Click Save.
Edit a group
You may rename a group, change which policy the group uses, or assign a scheduled scan to a group.
- Go to Configure > Groups.
- Click the group name.
- Perform one of the following:
- Edit the Group Name.
- Select a different policy from the Policy Name drop-down menu.
- Select one or more schedules to include.
- Click Save.
Delete a group
You may delete a group if it has no endpoints in it. If a group has child groups, and the child groups have endpoints in them, you cannot delete the group.
- Go to Configure > Groups.
- Select groups to delete.
- Click Delete. A warning is displayed. If you're sure you want to delete the group and any empty child groups, click Delete.
Move endpoints into groups
Endpoints are automatically added to the Default Group when you deploy the endpoint agent. You can move them into a different group on the Endpoints page. When an endpoint is moved to a group, it uses that group's policy. For more information, see Perform actions on endpoints in Nebula.
- Go to Manage > Endpoints.
- Check the boxes next to the endpoints you want to add to a group and click Actions.
- In the drop-down click Move.
- Select a group to move the selected endpoints to and click Save.
To change which group an endpoint is added to during installation, you must use command line or terminal commands and add the Group ID. To find your Group ID's:
- Go to the Download Center > Advanced tools.
- Click Specify group assignment.
- The list of install commands and Group ID's displays.
