Configure AI Detection & Response in Nebula

Use the AI Tools tab to set default governance settings that automatically apply to any newly detected AI tools in your system. This feature helps you maintain consistent oversight and control over all new AI tools as they are introduced.

Additionally, configure policy-specific rules for individual AI tools. This lets you tailor governance policies to the unique requirements or risks of each AI tool, ensuring more precise and effective management.

Governance Stance

The governance stance reflects your organization’s current policy on an AI tool. Each tool is assigned one of three stances:

• Needs Review: The tool has been detected but not yet evaluated. A decision is required before it can be classified.
• Authorized: The tool is approved for use within your organization.
• Unauthorized: The tool is not approved for use. Any detected use is a policy violation and should be investigated.

Change default AI tool governance

Configure the default governance stance applied to newly detected AI tools, including per-category defaults.

1. Click Default settings in the top-right corner.
2. Select the default governance status for newly detected tools before they are manually classified, then click Next.
3. Set default statuses for new tools in each category, then click Next.
4. Review, then click Save.

Override default governance settings

Configure a rule to override the default governance stance for a specific AI tool.

1. In the AI Tools tab, check the boxes next to the tools you want to change the governance stance for.
2. In the top-right corner, click Configure Rule.
3. Select a new governance status for these tools. This decision applies to all policies unless you click Add Rule Override to make an exception for a specific policy or site.
   1. Select a policy or site.
   2. Select a governance status for this policy override.
   3. Repeat for additional policies or sites as needed.
4. Click Next to review the changes.
5. Click Save Rule.
