The Trial Security Assessment report is a PDF automatically sent to the site creator at the end of a prospect's trial. It's built from security data collected in the prospect's environment during the trial period, converting that activity into a transparent and compelling story to share with the prospect, divided into two sections:
- What ThreatDown did during the trial: All protection events, detections, blocked threats, deployed patches, and intercepted emails during the trial period.
- What comes next: Open vulnerabilities and unpatched items to tackle after the prospect becomes a customer.

Report versions
Two versions of the report are produced simultaneously:
| Version | Audience | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Client Summary | Prospect, typically the IT admin or business owner. | An executive-facing shareable PDF. |
| Analyst Report | The MSP guiding the discussion with the prospect. | Full findings with talking points and technical details. For internal use only. Do not share with the prospect. |
The recipient should schedule a meeting with the prospect to discuss the Client Summary report, using the Analyst Report to lead the discussion.

Note: No report is created for trials that convert to paid subscriptions.
Manually send the report
Generate the report at any time during the trial without waiting for it to end.
- Go to Configure > Reports
- Find the report in the list.
- Next to the report, click the ellipsis button
under the Actions column
- Click Generate.
On-demand generation delivers both versions to the recipient list without affecting the automatic delivery at the end of the trial.
Trial Length and Report Delivery Timing
Trials run for either 14 or 28 days. The report is triggered by the furthest entitlement end date across all active subscriptions on the site.
If a new entitlement is added after site creation with a later expiration date, the report delivery date updates automatically. If a module is added after the trial starts, it is included in the report. Data for that module is scoped from its activation date to the report generation date.
For example, if Endpoint Protection and Endpoint Detection and Response expire on September 14, but Vulnerability Assessment expires on September 30, the report is generated and delivered on September 30.
Trial Lifecycle Behavior
The table below outlines how various trial lifecycle events affect the generation and delivery of the trial report.
| Scenario | What happens to the report |
|---|---|
| Trial ends naturally | Report is generated and delivered to recipients. |
| Trial extended | Report delivery date shifts to the new furthest element end date. |
| New module added mid-trial | Module included in the report, with data scoped from the activation date to the report generation date. |
| Trial manually converted to paid | Report is deleted and not sent. |
| Trial auto-converts to paid | No report was generated during site creation. |
| Trial canceled | Report is deleted and not sent. |
| Trial site deleted | Report is deleted and not sent. |
